Ms. Kisha, I honestly have to share how grateful I am for you and for my new life. The positive side of recovery is not often shared because unfortunately the disease we deal everyday causes many of our brothers not to make it. However, through God Grace and Mercy I refuse to allow it to get to me. I never would have thought I would be living the life I’m living right now. I am so grateful for your help. I have completed my probation, and I am actively involved in Crossover Church. I also mentor troubled juveniles at the Detention Center on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I am a Supervisor at my job. I Coach Little League Football, and I sponsor 4 gentlemen on the road to recovery, which is my proudest accomplishment. But I owe this life I have obtain to you and the great program. I am very grateful for everything your counseling has done to help me. Thank you so much.

My name is Lurene W and I would like to share a bit about how Ms. Kisha has helped me. I’m 56 years old and from age 7 to 29 I was sexually abused by my father. Through all the abuse I developed a life of shame and guilt that kept me self-medicating and victimizing myself. I was a very hurt, broken, and angry women but with the help of Ms. Kisha’s one on one counseling she helped me to realize that I was not to blame. I became a product of my environment and what I was doing was learned behavior. I survived the best way a child knew how. I learned to work through my anger and now I don’t blame myself, and I take responsibility for feeling better. Today I’ve learned to identify with my feelings and work through the pain and let it go. I’m free of the shame and guilt. I’m no longer a victim I’m a survivor.

Kisha has been my clinical supervisor for the past 2 years. Her supervision has been invaluable to me personally and professionally. I believe she was the person I needed specifically to believe in me, cheer me on, encourage me, and STRONGLY guide me and protect me from any potential catastrophies! I am gaining so much experience, and I am more and more grateful all the time. So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are a gift to the Mental Health counseling profession, the community and to all of us privileged to work with you.
